Our team: certified prosthetists and orthotists
Three generations of experience in prosthetics and orthotics. Meet the people who will look after you at Egnatia 101, in the centre of Thessaloniki, Greece.
Since 1952, three generations of prosthetists and orthotists have been making prosthetic limbs, braces and orthoses in Thessaloniki, with close attention to each person's needs.

Our story begins in 1952. K. Karatzas and I. Hlamidis, technicians at the Military Orthopaedic Factory and among the best of their time, decided to found the first orthopaedic workshop in Northern Greece. Their aim was to make high-quality, effective orthopaedic products: scoliosis braces, orthoses, prosthetic arms and prosthetic legs.
Our purpose has not changed since then: to help the people who trust us to keep their independence and their freedom. Today Hlamidis Orthopaedic Center (legal name: I. Hlamidis & Co. P.C.) combines the experience of three generations with modern technology.
Since 1990 the company has been run by the founder Ioannis Hlamidis's son, Iordanis Hlamidis, a certified prosthetist-orthotist specialising in prosthetics. A prosthetist-orthotist is the specialist who designs, makes and fits prosthetic limbs and orthoses, working together with your treating physician.
The third generation in the company is his son, Ioannis Hlamidis, a certified prosthetist-orthotist specialising in prosthetics, trained at Ottobock's technical school (Ottobock Academy). The team is completed by specialist technicians in orthotics and orthopaedic products. Meet our team.
We make every type of orthosis, prosthetic limb, brace and splint, always in line with your treating physician's instructions. We also stock the full range of sports supports, orthopaedic products and insoles, both off the shelf and made to order.
At our base at Egnatia 101, in the centre of Thessaloniki, we have created model facilities: our workshops, a dedicated physiotherapy area and an area for learning how to use a prosthetic limb. Here, people receiving a new prosthesis can practise walking with parallel bars and a training staircase.

Our partners include leading orthopaedic manufacturers from Europe and America, such as Ottobock, Össur, Endolite, Teufel and Schein. This means that, together with your doctor, we can suggest the solution that suits your needs: from a custom insole to a microprocessor knee.
Our mission is to meet all the needs of the people who come to us. Our goal is your quality of life.
We are contracted with EOPYY (ΕΟΠΥΥ), Greece's national health insurance organisation, for all the products we make. If you are insured in Greece and your doctor has recommended a prosthetic limb, a brace or an orthosis, see how EOPYY reimbursement works; we will guide you through every step.
We are based in Thessaloniki, but we see patients from all over Greece. Contact us on +30 2310 282 894 or +30 2310 227 976 to book an appointment.
The company has previously been certified by DQS for its quality management systems in the manufacture of prosthetic and orthotic devices and the distribution of medical devices:
